Will google pick up on a secondary domain name I pay for a five year deal? Or is the 1 I have now fine?

IN plain English will it up my rankings? To have both 5 yr domain names instead of 1 for a year and 1 for 5 yrs?

the amount of years you are going to own the domain has nothing to do with page ranking. Page ranking is determined from quality back links to your site. How many visitors you are getting to your site. How much original content you have on your site. How much competition you are up against for your niche. Those are wht determines your page rank. I can buy my domain for 100 years and it will not effect my page rank what so ever. If you would like to increase your back links I would recommend using pyrabang you will place a small what looks like a pay per click ad on thousands of websites for only 5.95 a month you have a chance to make 12 per person you bring to the site as well as the amount of clicks from your site you will also make money.

It wont up your rankings as much as you may think, but Google does tend to trust sites more that are in for the long term. I always buy 10 years, which is the max.

It makes no difference how long you register the domain for – you can renew it each year anyway. The age of the domain matters, the older the domain, the more Google will view your site as an authority site and raise you up the rankings. Do you know how much your domain is worth? You can get it professionally valued at http://www.submissionmadesimple.com/appraise.php or http://www.sedo.com. Both have a really great reputation in the industry and will give you a better idea of whether a secondary domain is worth having.
