I was wandering if any marketers would help me with a question concerning a domain name?

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

I am trying to decide the domain name for my website. I have been doing some key word research, and I found a keyword phrase that has a high search number and a low number of pages on google, that is relevant to my website. Would it be a good idea to use the for my domain name? If I do use this as my domain will search engines pick up on it better? Any help you could give me on this would be greatly appreciated:)

Affiliate Marketing Question: What is the Cheapest Way to Start My Business Without a Website?

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Many new affiliates make use of the affiliate marketing business model as they will be able to start their business fast. Most of them will be looking for methods that will enable them to earn the most amount of money with the least amount of investment. Here is one model which you can use if you want to start your business with no website:

Step 1: Find A Market

You will have to find a market that you want to base your business in. It can be simply defined as a group of people who are having the same problem or hobby. You will want to find a market where it is profitable.  The easiest method is to go to EzineArticles dot com and look at the different niche market that is being categorized.

Step 2: Find A Affiliate Product To Promote

The next thing that you will do is to go to Clickbank dot com and look for the affiliate product to promote to the market that you have chosen. You will want to make sure that the product is relevant to what your customer is looking for and it must meet their needs. The 2nd thing that you will want to take note is the merchant’s website should have good sales letter. This is important as you will want to make sure that you will get some sales for every 100 people that you refer to your affiliate link.

Step 3: Purchase A Domain Name

You can go to NameCheap dot com to purchase your domain name. It will cost you around $10 yearly. You will want t make sure that the domain name is a .com and it should be easy to remember. Once you have purchased the domain name, you will log in to your domain account and edit the redirection properties. You will want to put your affiliate link there so that when people type on your domain name, they will go to your affiliate link.

Step 4: Write And Submit Lots Of Articles

The last step that you will have to do is to write and submit as many articles as you can. Now you will just stay focus on sending traffic to your link. As you are using a domain name, many of the top article directories will accept your articles when you put your domain name on the resource box.

This is the cheapest method that you can use to start your own business without a website. If you get 1 sale for every 100 people that come to your link, it will be just a matter of bringing more people so that you can get more sales. Do apply this method if you do not want to have your own website although I will highly recommend you to have your own website so that you can build your list.

Web site hosting question?

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

I was looking into godaddy.com and it gives you the option of choosing a Linux server or a Windows server and Linux is the default choice. I’m not familiar with servers at all and I have no idea why one would be better than the other, or any specific differences.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

noob question about multiple domain hosting?

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

alright this is a pretty noob question… im probably just making the answer much more complicated than it really is.

say i go with hostgators baby plan: unlimited domains/disk space/bandwidth

now does this mean that i can pick up some cheap .com’s or .info’s from whoever, change the nameservers, and voila – upload some html pages or whatever and im good to go!? or am i missing something here?!??!

ive heard that hostgator hosting is the way to go or should i look into something else?!

p.s. i don’t care about mysql or any special jazz – im just looking to host some static pages.

thanks.

Question regarding hosting your own web server?

Monday, April 5th, 2010

Hi
I just finished 2 websites right now, and I was thinking of hosting my own web and database servers.

I have an extra computer at home, which will serve as the dedicated server, and will run windows server 2003.

I have the business plan with my isp, so i am allowed to host servers, but my upload speed is only 800kbps

With that connection speed, suppose 10 users are downloading a 800kb page and executing 3 select mysql queries all at the same time, how long will it take for the page to be rendered?

Is there a mathematical formula that shows this?

What is the maximum number of users that you guys think could be browsing my website at the same time?

Is there any books you guys could recommend me viewing before launching the server?

Thanks!
i.e I have 2gb ram, and 2.4ghz processor

Technical question: Please let me know if this template will work on any hosting company?

Monday, April 5th, 2010

I’m thinking of bluehost. Can you tell me if they support this type of template? They’re not very clear in their answer at all.

CMS V2.0 Flash (Web hosting with php5/xml support)
Unix or Windows running host with php4 (+ “domxml” extension)/php5 (+ “dom” extension) support

Would this work on bluehost and would it be hard to set it up?

Thanks!

.com / .com.au / .co.jp question?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

If I was to do a website for a client in Japan, who is wanting get a .co.jp in their URL, how would I go about setting it up…?

In Australia, we have to provide an ABN (Australian Business Number) to qualify for a com.au ….

Is it the same in most other countries…?

Would I have to go through a Japanese web host provider..?

Thanks in advance.

E-Commerce hosting question?

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Hi. I have a question about e-commerce hosting.

If I have the front-end code ready to go for an e-commerce site (html pages of products, etc) is there any host that allows me to easily plug in my code to the e-commerce software they provide with the hosting package?

I checked with 1and1.com but they said I have to use their template if I want to use the eShop package they provide. (I can place my own logo, header, etc into the template, but I cannot modify the design to make my own).

So, here are the questions:
1. If I want to use my own design / template, what’s the best way to go about creating an e-commerce website? Are there any web hosting company that provides means to plug in my template into their e-commerce web hosting package?

2. My design is similar to “http://www.coach.com/default.aspx”
Is there any web host that provides similar looking template as coach.com?

Detailed explanation on how I can go about doing this would be greatly appreciated.
