After canceling a domain name, how long would it take to be available again?

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

My sister bought a domain name but then she canceled it because web hosting was not included…

Anyway, she really wants that domain name and we’re wondering how long it would take for that domain to be available again so she can purchase it again under a different plan from a different provider.

Does anyone know about this?

Thanks for your help!

What is the least expensive way to register a domain name? How long does it last? Can I choose my host later?

Monday, March 8th, 2010

I’d like to register a domain name. I’m not going to use it for anything right now; I just want to reserve it for my website in the future (possibly a couple years or more from now).

So, what’s the cheapest way, and how long does it last? If I register it at one site, am I “locked in” to using that site to renew the registration when it expires?

And, am I locked into that site to host my content when I’m ready? In other words, can I choose to register my domain on one site and choose a completely different site to host the content?

Thanks!

No matter what hosting company, (not just Yahoo!), how long after the domain expires can I buy the domain?

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Reguardless of the hosting company, how long after the domain expires from a previous owner, asuming that there are no backorders or otherwise ownership of the domain after expiration, can the domain be purchased.
I have been trying to buy a domain that expired on the 27th of april, but I still can’t buy the domain. The WHOIS database, on multiple company websites, says that domain

Free Domain Name – Convert A Long URL To A Short One

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Do you have your own webpage or website online and you don’t have your own domain name and the address to your website is so long?

I know how hard it is to promote a website with long urls and trying to give the url to family or friends so they can visit your website can be a nightmare in itself.

There are a few choices but many are paid options only. When I was doing some research for my website I discovered a cool way
to turn those really long urls into a short one using a standard domain name which forwards on to your long url.

This is a genuine domain name and the extension ends in .tk.
There are a few things you need to have to receive your free .tk domain name.

1. Your must have an existing webpage or website
2. 25 Visitors or more need to visit your webpage or website every 3 months

If your website is not visited 25 times in 90 days your domain will be cancelled. There is also an option of e-mail forwarding and its 100% FREE.

So you might be thinking what does .tk extension mean? This extension is for Tokelau which is a small island in the Pacific Ocean. The only worry these Islanders have is the ship coming in the harbor with fresh fish, which is divided equally amongst the people in the village.

Maybe that’s the reason why Tokelau, carrying the web address extension .tk is so relaxed about its domain registration. I am not sure, all I know for anyone that wants to convert there long domain names you can do it for free using the .tk extension.

You can register up to 3 free .tk domain names.
in which the website can be visited by going to -http://www0.dot.tk

How long can you keep your domain name?

After some research, I am ready to purchase a domain name. How long can I register that domain name? Is there a 10 year limit? If so, how can I keep it beyond that?
