Monday, March 8th, 2010I’d like to register a domain name. I’m not going to use it for anything right now; I just want to reserve it for my website in the future (possibly a couple years or more from now).
So, what’s the cheapest way, and how long does it last? If I register it at one site, am I “locked in” to using that site to renew the registration when it expires?
And, am I locked into that site to host my content when I’m ready? In other words, can I choose to register my domain on one site and choose a completely different site to host the content?
Thanks!

What is the best (& least expensive) Tomcat enabled web hosting provider?
Monday, February 22nd, 2010I need a host that has
1. Tomcat (w/ access to Manager for uploading .war files)
2. MySql
3. bulk FTP capabilities
4. less than $20/month
Space, email addresses and extra domain names not important. Tomcat & MySql (or Postgres) are essential. Being able to restart the Tomcat JVM? Priceless.
Recommendations?
Cheers!
Holy Sheep Noodles! $13.95/mo for all that AND a private JVM? Great tip!
Cheers!
