I had a friend who registered the domain name annoyingpedophile.com and made it forward to his friends myspace.com profile, so when someone browsed to annoyingpedophile.com they would be forwarded to / view the persons myspace account, the owner of the myspace account threatened to sue, so the domain forward was removed, was anything illegal actually done?

Is it illegal to buy the domain name of someone you know?
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010My best friend’s ex ran up her credit card and disappeared. He put her over $15,000 into debt. We’re mad at him, but not much we can do about it, so I thought about buying (hisname.com) and putting a redirect to porn. It wouldnt have anything abourt HIM on the site – I just know that he’s been meaning to buy his own domain name and hasn’t gotten around to it. It would be a small annoyance (and victory!), but I am not a lawbreaker, unlike him. Can you pretty much buy anyname.com and make it whatever you want as long as it’s not slander? I am tempted to buy the name of his business, too. I know it’s not the most mature thing to do, but I feel like I have to stab at him SOMEHOW! Ideas? (that won’t get me arrested?)
what is an illegal domain name regarding trademark?
Saturday, February 13th, 2010I have registered domain names for an upcoming release of a product. The release has been known for quite some time and surprisingly, the domains were available. I would like to know if there are certain domains that are illegal, if I’m planning to offer a service related to the products trademarked name.
